Dr. Day was born and raised right here in the Phoenix area. He attended Colorado State University where he graduated in 1981 with his B.S. degree and in 1984 with his D.V.M. degree. After a year of employment with another local veterinarian, he purchased and still practices here at the Glendale Animal Hospital.
Doctor Day has also owned three other local hospitals but these were sold years ago so that he could concentrate all efforts on this practice alone. He has advanced training in dentistry, feline medicine, cytologic interpretation, clinical pathology (blood testing), orthopedic and joint surgery (surgery of the knee), radiosurgery (a form of microwave/laser surgery) and chiropractic manipulation for animals. Dr. Day is certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Dentistry Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
The doctor is married and has three beautiful daughters, three sons-in-law, and nine wonderful grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys his own family and pets, scuba diving, gardening, writing, sailing, jet skiing and operating a FedEx business with his son-in-law! Mostly, he enjoys the practice of veterinary medicine above all.
On a Personal Note...
It was my lifelong dream to become a veterinarian which I accomplished in 1984. I am happiest seeing clients and treating their beloved pets. I know you can't come to know me or my practice just by browsing through our web site. Mutual trust and understanding only comes over time. I do hope that you may discover all that we can offer you inside our practice walls. I enjoy most the relationship I have built with people and their pets over many years of service, and I know Dr. Brown feels the same.
We have tried ever so hard to make our style and standard of practice top quality without sacrificing good old-fashioned care and concern. While we operate a general practice that can meet most of your pet's basic needs, we also offer some specialized services such as orthopedic and abdominal surgery, oncology (cancer treatment) and chiropractic care. We can't be all things to all people, but if you want a good relationship with a veterinarian for your pet, strait talk and clear explanations we'll try hard to meet your needs. We aren't perfect, but we strive for excellent care for our clients and patients.
Dr. Brown received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 from Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California. She had eight years of experience in the field as a veterinary technician prior to becoming a vet. Dr. Brown is originally from Ohio but has lived in Arizona since 1991. She has just one pet of her own; a Cavachon dog named “Sparky”. Dr. Brown is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Arizona Veterinary Medical Association, and California Veterinary Medical Association.
