PREVENTATIVE CARE is one of the most important things we can offer to help you keep your pet healthy and HAPPY!  Great Preventative Care consists of:

Complete physical exam where we would check:

  • Eyes, Ears, Nose, Teeth, Gums and Throat
  • Heart and Lungs
  • Abdominal and Digestive Organs
  • Lymph Nodes
  • Muscles, Nervous System and Urinary System
  • Skin, Coat, Nails and Anal Glands
  • Weight and General Appearance

Fecal Analysis for worms and non-worm internal parasites

Blood Screening for Heartworm Disease and Tick-Borne Illnesses (Dogs)

Blood Screening for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids (Cats)

Heartworm and Internal Parasite Preventative Medication Started

Vaccines such as:

  • Distemper-Parvo-Hepatitis-Respiratory Vaccine for Dogs
  • Rabies Vaccine for Dogs
  • Bordatella and Parainfluenza Vaccine for Dogs (Kennel Coughs)
  • Leptospirosis Vaccine for Dogs
  • Rattelsnake Vaccine for Dogs
  • Distemper-Respiratory Vaccine for Cats
  • Rabies Vaccine for Cats
  • Feline Leukemia Vaccine for Cats

With Pets Over 8 years of age we often shift towards some basic blood screening in an attempt to detect any old-age internal problems early.  This may include:

  • Complete Blood Count
  • Organ Function Profile
  • Thyroid Screening
  • Urine Analysis 

New Puppies and Kittens:

  • Seen at 2 months, 3 months and 4 months of age and neutered at 6 months

Adult Dogs and Cats up to 8 years of age:

  • Should be seen yearly for preventative care

Adult Dogs and Cats over 8 years of age:

  • Best seen every 6 months with blood screening at least yearly

Meet the Doctors

 James Day D.V.M. Dr. Day was born and raised right here in the Phoenix area. He attended Colorado State University where he graduated in 1984 with his B.S. and D.V.M. degrees. After a year of employment with another local veterinarian, he purchased and still operates the Glendale Animal Hospital. Read More

 

 Stephanie M. Brown D.V.M. Dr. Brown received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 from Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California. Prior to attending Veterinary school, Dr. Brown graduated from Arizona State University in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science in Agribusiness and then went on to receive a Masters of Science in Pathobiology from The University of Arizona in 2008.
